Building Stronger Communities Through Prevention and Education

What We Do

At Conectados Pela Vida, we believe that prevention, education, and science walk hand in hand to transform lives and communities. Our work is guided by the conviction that health promotion and early interventions are the most powerful tools to prevent suffering and to build a future with more balance, well-being, and opportunities.

Prevention and Health Promotion

We develop and implement prevention programs that reach children, adolescents, families, and professionals. In schools, our interactive workshops focus on life skills, emotional regulation, healthy screen use, and the prevention of substance use. In communities, we organize lectures, campaigns, and mobilization events that strengthen protective factors and encourage healthier lifestyles. We also invest in teacher training, equipping educators to deal with everyday challenges in the classroom, identify risks early, and apply evidence-based preventive strategies.

Research, Knowledge, and Innovation

Our projects are designed and evaluated in collaboration with universities and research centers, ensuring scientific rigor and innovation. By combining fieldwork with research, we generate evidence that not only improves our own interventions but also contributes to the global conversation on prevention and mental health. We publish articles, participate in international congresses, and ensure that knowledge produced in academia can be translated into accessible and practical solutions for society.

Professional Training and Mentoring

We support mental health services, especially CAPS and multidisciplinary teams, through mentoring, supervision, and tailored training. Our capacity-building programs cover a wide range of topics, from addiction and comorbidities to communication strategies, emotional regulation, and prevention of relapse. This professional development ensures that frontline workers have tools to provide more effective, compassionate, and sustainable care.

Technical Materials and Educational Resources

One of our key contributions has been the development of technical booklets and educational materials. Recently, we coordinated the production of specialized guides on gambling disorder, created in different versions: for patients, for families, and for health professionals. These resources offer clear, evidence-based information and practical strategies, helping families to identify warning signs, professionals to act with greater confidence, and patients to feel supported in their recovery journey. In addition, we produce materials on screen use, parenting, and prevention strategies that can be freely used in schools and communities.

Strategic Alliances and Partnerships

Our work is strengthened by partnerships with national and international organizations. In Brazil, we collaborate with ABEAD (Associação Brasileira de Estudos do Álcool e outras Drogas) and APRS (Associação de Psiquiatria do Rio Grande do Sul), integrating scientific and clinical knowledge into our projects. With universities, we create opportunities for students in Medicine, Pedagogy, and Psychology to participate in field activities, combining academic learning with community engagement.

On the international stage, Conectados Pela Vida is a member of the International Federation of Green Crescent Societies and is officially registered with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). These alliances connect us to a global network of organizations working on prevention and health promotion, allowing us to exchange experiences, adopt best practices, and amplify our impact beyond local and national borders.

A Holistic and Human-Centered Approach

What makes our work unique is our holistic vision: we don’t see prevention only as an individual responsibility but as a collective and systemic task. By connecting schools, families, professionals, communities, and scientific knowledge, we create networks of care and resilience. We believe that every child deserves the chance to grow up in a supportive environment, every family deserves access to guidance and resources, and every professional deserves the tools to act with confidence and empathy.
